Are you in pursuit of happiness?

Of course you are in pursuit of happiness! Happiness is the great American dream and promise. It is our constitutional right! Actually, that is not entirely accurate. In fact the pursuit of happiness is our constitutional right -- not the actual happiness. And the older and more mature I grow, the more I realize that the pursuit of happiness is actually the path to true happiness.

I do not mean to confuse the pursuit of happiness with that never-ending quest for "more" that possesses so many people. You know those people -- the ones who believe they will be happy after the possess more money, more property, more cars, or more of whatever score keeping marker they utilize. What I mean by the pursuit of happiness actually being the path to happiness is simply that if you realize that happiness is not found in the destination but rather along the journey then you will indeed be a much happier person.
